How the hourly rate calculator works
Enter your hourly rate, the hours you work each week and the weeks you work each year. The calculator multiplies them to get your annual pay, then works out tax, Medicare levy, super and take-home pay for the 2026-27 year. Change any figure and the result updates.
Hourly rate to annual salary
Annual pay before tax is your hourly rate x hours per week x weeks per year. A full-time week is usually 38 hours, which is 1,976 hours over 52 weeks. For a 40-hour week it is 2,080 hours. If you work 48 weeks a year, use 48 weeks in the calculator.
| Hourly rate | Per week | Per year |
|---|---|---|
| $25.00 | $950 | $49,400 |
| $30.00 | $1,140 | $59,280 |
| $35.00 | $1,330 | $69,160 |
| $40.00 | $1,520 | $79,040 |
| $50.00 | $1,900 | $98,800 |
| $60.00 | $2,280 | $118,560 |
Annual salary to hourly rate
Divide the salary by the hours you work in a year. These figures use 1,976 hours, so a part-time roster or fewer working weeks gives a higher hourly rate.
| Annual salary | Hourly rate |
|---|---|
| $60,000 | $30.36 |
| $70,000 | $35.43 |
| $80,000 | $40.49 |
| $90,000 | $45.55 |
| $100,000 | $50.61 |
| $120,000 | $60.73 |

Hourly pay questions
How do I convert an hourly rate to an annual salary?

How do I convert an annual salary to an hourly rate?
Divide the salary by the hours you work in a year. For a 38-hour week over 52 weeks that is 1,976 hours, so $80,000 is about $40.49 an hour. Part-time or fewer working weeks raise the hourly figure.
Does my hourly rate include super?
It depends on your contract. If the rate is base pay, your employer adds the 12% superannuation guarantee on top. If it is a package rate, super is already inside it. Choose the matching option in the calculator.
What about casual loading?
Casual staff usually get 25% loading on the base rate. If your hourly rate already includes it, enter it as is. For rosters with weekend penalties, use the shift pay calculator.
